Unforgettable experience in a Bedouin camp in Dubai.
The desert safari was one of the best experiences I had in Dubai. The adventure started when the company tour we had chosen, picked us up around 15 pm from our hotel in a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Shortly after, we were on our way to the desert. Twenty minutes later and after a brief stop to deflate the tires of the vehicle, we headed towards the heart of the desert.
Our first stop was to enjoy a stunning spot of the dunes and took some pictures. Then, we tighten our fasten belts to experience the most exciting and funny moment of our tour…the dune bashing! where you can feel like a rally dakar pilot.
It was an experience of pure adrenaline; we had a great time and our guide made us feel safe at all times.
Then we stopped in a place surrounded by dunes to took pictures and we appreciated the beautiful colours of the shiny sand.
We arrived at a beautiful bedouin camp just in time to watch the sun set and enjoy a wide range of desert activities such as a camel ride, henna hand-painting, sandboarding and wildlife spotting. Also, there were camps where you could dress in traditional clothing, and of course taste the famous shisha.
The atmosphere was absolutely magical. You could enjoy doing different activities while you are watching a unique landscape.
When it started to get dark, we could see how the sky was flooded with stars. I never saw so many stars! It was amazing!
Afterwards, a delicious BBQ was waiting for us. We could enjoy also of live authentic entertainment on stage while we were having dinner (Fire Dance, Belly Dance and light dance).
Even though the camp is full of tourists, you could feel the charmed and quite atmosphere. You can feel the peace of the desert just 20 minutes away from downtown Dubai.
This experience is a must if you visit Dubai and you are an adventure lover!
Some tips
- Most operators are pretty similar, you can book the safari dessert tour in your hotel desk or choose one of many tourism companies available at the web.
- There are different options with different kind of services. I recommend the 7-hour program with the addition of a barbecue dinner and entertainment.
- People who are having motion sickness will not enjoy the dune bashing because it is a bit aggressive. Also, is not recommended if you suffer of heart problems, or back pain issues. But you can enjoy the rest of the tour avoiding this activity.
- Don't eat too much before the dune driving experience.
- Bring comfortable shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, and warm clothing because it tends to get cold at night.
